When couples approach me to document their wedding, the succeeding question they ask is to suggest wedding filmmakers, make-up and hair artists and others relevant to their wedding day needs. Who to look for when you are ready to get married is perhaps the most difficult task of every wedding. So here, I am trying to simplify this for you with good solutions that I have found over time. (This is a list of some wonderful artists and brands that I know or have worked with or have loved too much !)

From Wedding Stationery to Wedding Décor, from Cinematographers to Art Essentials for your special day, a wedding is a culmination of these distinctive little things that add up together for your big day.

Cinematographers : The Marigold Company by Anvitha Pillai & Naveen Yadav, Chennai.

This extremely talented duo ensures that your day is captured with utmost attention to details.

What I love about The Marigold Company is primarily their choice of music. With an ideal soundtrack to your ceremony, Anvitha & Naveen add the right elements of emotions and the closest set of people into the frame and they do it just beautifully!

Go see for yourself their beautifully hand-crafted wedding films!

Pretty you :  Mogra

One of the dilemmas you might face as a bride is  atleast half a dozen of new articles in your wardrobe. And me as a bride I knew I wanted more than just sarees and salwar suits and lehengas. I wanted dressed and tops but also still wanted to look a bit of a "newly wed" ! I wish I knew Mogra then ! Western outfits with an Indian touch, my nod goes for it !

If you like the above picture, you will massively love Mogra ! I know I am in love with it !

Introducing Mogra by Sheena Roy ! I was introduced to this Pune based brand very recently, and can't get over their innovative use of giving a whole new avatar to saris by getting them in dresses and tops! If you’re looking for a unique dress for your haldi day or wedding brunch with a dash of Indian-ness, try Mogra. A top pick for your non-traditional days! I massively love sarees and salwar suits which I can wear on normal days and just look Indian and not too festive.

The best part is that Mogra also gives you the option to rake through your wardrobe and send them your very own sarees ( that really see the light of the day in ages ) to have them transformed into Mogra designs ! I know I am scoring through my closet this weekend as I have some 25 sarees already and I would love a new look to them !

Pretty you : AKA Bespoke

‘a.k.a. bespoke’ is an accessories brand for the ladies and gentlemen of the 21st century. It was started by aeiman. karan. ateev. - Three friends and designers, each with a very distinct style but common passion ~ to create beautiful, timeless pieces to express their love for design.

After graduating from the prestigious Cordwainers - London College of Fashion, they decided to establish their brand to cater to a niche group of clients, as limited in number as their collections and just as sharply discerning.

They believe in exclusive, bespoke creations - to delve deep into each client’s wants and wishes and handcraft painstakingly, speciality footwear and bags like no other.

I also had the opportunity to be in front of the camera for their very first collection and hence I have literally seen this grand grow to the runway shows. Aka has made bespoke shoes for  Rahul Mishra at the Paris Fashionweek.

ore closer to home they have also designed shoes for Ritu Kumar, Priyadarshini Rao, Nimish Shah and many more..

Exclusive retail collections of a.k.a. bespoke shoes are available at ‘Bungalow 8’ and ‘MAL’ in Mumbai and ‘White’ in New Delhi.

Wedding Stationery : The Shaadi Project by The Post box

The Postbox is an e-commerce platform where designers, graphic artists and photographers come together to create a visually inspiring canvas. I am lucky to call Madhuvanthi Senthilkumar & Nikhil Joseph my friends who are the brains behind this wonderful venture.

I have seen the growth of The Postbox right from where it was just an idea to the heights it has reached now. And now The Postbox team will be catering to the shaadi people through The Shaadi Project !

This is something I am very optimistic about considering my love for stationery. I know how essential is the wedding stationery because thats the first look people get to your wedding. I know how my husband and me were particular about having classic and minimalistic wedding invites. So much so that we had to design and get them printed ourselves.

I am sure of the brilliance of design with "The Shaadi Project as they have an army of artists ready to take on work for this.

Come April first week, Madhuvanthi & Nikhil will launch "The Shaadi Project" a one stop shop for customized design for your invitation cards, props and wedding gifts and wedding favors.

More updates on this coming soon !
